The VCPA are extremely proud to announce that our highly regarded member and colleague Ruth Wraith was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in this year's Australia Day Awards:

"For service to community health, particularly the treatment of children recovering from trauma."

Mindful Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health is the state-wide unit responsible for the delivery of postgraduate courses, training programs, professional development and research programs in child and adolescent mental health. Mindful is jointly auspiced by the University of Melbourne and Monash University and is funded by a Department of Health grant. For more information about Mindful courses and events please visit www.mindful.org.au

The PPAA is a federated body composed of member organisations from most Australian States and from New Zealand.  The Association was formed in 1980 with the aim of maintaining high standards of practice, training and ethics in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

Through our member organisations the total membership is in excess of 200.  Members come primarily from professional backgrounds in psychology, medicine, psychiatry and social work.  Our members treat people suffering from a wide range of emotional and mental disorders including depression, anxiety states, psychotic states, phobias, psychosomatic disorders, disorders of the self and self esteem.
